About
Hello. I’m Willow. I was born in Newcastle.
People from Newcastle are called Geordies. I am not a proper geordie for two reasons:
1) My parents are not from there
2) Ah divvent speak leik this.
When I was little I wanted to be a marine biologist. I wonder sometimes why I didn’t pursue that career path. It may have to do that at the age of 14 I was given a mac classic by my older brother.
I moved to Glasgow to study graphic design. I am not a proper graphic designer. I was interested in accents, and wanted to build an accent machine, but was scared of building real things, so instead built things in flash that people could interact with using their voice and a mouse.
Since 2003 I have been trying not to be a proper interactive designer, especially as that has now come to mean someone who draws grey boxes. Once, my job title was Communication Designer, which I thought was quite close to sounding right. I have worked and lived in London, Stockholm and Munich and have had the luck to meet along my travels some amazing people that make magic.
I love working on projects that have heart and with real individuals. I also love the process behind food, fine wines and hearty ales along with doing anything athletic outdoors. My biggest love is travelling, which I try to attend to as much as possible. None of these would be quite the same without my mustache, who makes everyday life an adventure.
